Yamaha HS8 8 inch powered studio monitors, pair, in Good condition

Great sounding, fully working pair of Yamaha HS8’s, with some cosmetic issues as listed below.

These are the white cone Yamaha monitors that became the studio standard, an 8 inch woofer and a 1 inch dome tweeter driven by a bi-amplified 75 watt low and 45 watt high amplifier in each cabinet, reaching down to 38 Hz without a sub. They take balanced XLR or TRS and have Room Control and High Trim switches on the back so you can compensate for a bad room or a boundary wall. Both cabinets are dated February 2021 on the factory plate, so these are recent production, not the older run. The serial numbers are not sequential, so these are two HS8s from the same production month rather than a factory matched pair. Serial numbers UFBI01676 and UFBI01369.

Condition: Overall we rated this as Very Good. One cabinet has a chip in the finish along the top front edge where the top meets the baffle, running roughly an inch and a half with a deeper gouge at one point and the lighter cabinet material showing through, as seen in the photos. The other cabinet has a white scuff mark on the front baffle near the tweeter waveguide. Both rear amplifier plates show dust and grime, heaviest along the heatsink fins. Both white woofer cones are undamaged with clean dust caps and intact surrounds. Both tweeter domes are intact behind their protective mesh with no dents. All driver mounting screws are present and both Yamaha badges are present. Both side panels are unmarked.

Test Results: Both monitors power up and play clean through the full range with no buzzing, rattling, hiss, or dropouts. Both XLR and TRS inputs pass signal on both speakers. Level controls, Room Control switches, and High Trim switches all function on both.
