FOR SALE: ENSONIQ EPS CLASSIC – EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION – FULLY FUNCTIONAL

As always, I only deal in the cleanest of the clean, and this Ensoniq EPS Classic is no exception.

Up for sale is a fully functional Ensoniq EPS Classic in outstanding cosmetic and working condition.

If you're familiar with these vintage samplers, you already know how difficult it is to find one that's been preserved this well after nearly four decades.

LET'S GET INTO THE DETAILS

This EPS is in beautiful condition, inside and out. Everything has been inspected, and all functions are working as they should.

  • Keyboard: All keys are still bright white, with none of the typical yellowing or discoloration commonly seen on these units after a long time plus the keys still got its bounce.
  • Capacitors: No visible bulging capacitors.
  • Fuses: All fuses are intact and clear.
  • Pitch & Modulation Wheels: Both function exactly as intended.
  • Audio Outputs: All outputs work properly, with clean audio and absolutely no crackling or unwanted noise.
  • Power Supply: Even the internal power supply retains its original shiny nickel/chrome appearance. If you've spent any time around these older EPS units, you'll know that corrosion and rust are commonly found in this area. Not on this one.
  • Overall Condition: Exceptionally well-preserved, both cosmetically and electronically.

A FEW THINGS WORTH MENTIONING

I believe in being completely transparent about anything I sell, regardless of how minor it may seem.

1. Rear Ensoniq Logo

When I acquired this particular EPS, the original Ensoniq lettering across the rear panel had been completely rubbed off.

Rather than leave it that way, I carefully recreated the original logo using high-quality, durable vinyl. The replacement closely replicates the original factory lettering in appearance and presentation.

So, for the sake of full disclosure, the rear Ensoniq logo is a custom reproduction, not the original factory printing. However, it looks excellent and restores the instrument's original appearance.plus i haven't seen anybody in my time in this game even do that!!!

2. Right Arrow Button

The only other minor imperfection worth mentioning is the right arrow button. It doesn't have quite the same pronounced tactile click as the other buttons.

To be absolutely clear, the button functions 100% correctly. It simply feels slightly different when pressed.

I'm more than happy to provide a video demonstrating its operation if requested.

Aside from those two disclosures, this EPS is about as clean as they come.

ORIGINAL OWNER / HISTORY

This particular EPS came from its original owner, who had kept it stored away in a closet for years, virtually untouched.

Its overall condition certainly reflects that history.

MY SELLING HISTORY SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

If you're unfamiliar with me as a seller, I encourage you to take a look at my recent sales and feedback.

I've recently sold three exceptionally clean Ensoniq EPS units, including one that came directly from its original owner with all the original paperwork.

I have a reputation for offering some of the cleanest examples of these machines, and my selling history and customer feedback reflect that.

I don't deal in beat-up, neglected, or questionable equipment. I take pride in finding and offering vintage instruments that have been properly preserved and cared for.

A FINAL NOTE ABOUT VINTAGE ENSONIQ SAMPLERS

While these machines may come from original owners and have been exceptionally well cared for, let's not forget that we're talking about electronic instruments that are now well over 30 years old.

Regardless of how clean or well-preserved they are, components can and eventually do fail and need maintaining like cleaning pots, sliders, outputs etc....

That's simply the reality of owning vintage electronics.

It's also worth mentioning that all three of Ensoniq's legendary samplers—the EPS Classic, EPS-16 Plus, and ASR-10—can generate considerable heat around their power supply sections. Aging capacitors, voltage regulators, and other power supply components are all things that owners should be mindful of as these instruments continue to age.

Now, speaking as someone who has owned, operated, and spent considerable time with all three machines, I STILL ROCK WITH THE ORIGINAL EPS CLASSIC THE HARDEST!

And there's a reason for that.

In my personal experience, the original EPS Classic has consistently been the least troublesome of the three. Compared to the EPS-16 Plus and ASR-10, I've encountered far fewer headaches, failures, and maintenance-related issues with the Classic.

That's not to say the EPS Classic is immune to problems. No vintage sampler is. But when it comes to my own experience with reliability, simplicity, and overall dependability, the original EPS Classic wins by a considerable margin.

Of course, everyone's experience may differ, but that's my assessment after years of working with these instruments. Plus still teh EPS Classic has teh most sample rates than ANY SAMPLER TO DATE STILL!

I'm not here to tell anyone that a nearly 40-year-old piece of electronic equipment will last forever or never require servicing. That wouldn't be fair or truthful.

I'm simply offering an exceptionally well-preserved example of a machine that I personally believe remains one of Ensoniq's finest and most dependable samplers.

FINAL THOUGHTS

If you've been searching for an original Ensoniq EPS Classic that's exceptionally clean, fully functional, and hasn't been abused over the years, this is one worth considering.

These machines are approaching 40 years old, and finding examples in this condition is becoming increasingly difficult.

Please review the photographs carefully, check my feedback, and feel free to reach out with any reasonable questions.

As always, I believe in being straightforward, transparent, and fair. My feedback and selling history speak for themselves.

Thanks for looking!
