Tama STAR Maple 5-Piece Drum Set in Ocean Blue Curly Maple

The Tama STAR Maple 5-piece drum set pairs the open, bright character of maple with the warmth and body of a solid-ply core. Its five-piece, 5mm shell construction places a 2mm solid maple core between cross-laminated plies, with a curly maple outer ply for the Ocean Blue finish. The kit includes a 22x16" bass drum, 10x8" and 12x9" rack toms, and 14x14" and 16x16" floor toms.

Designed to support shell resonance, the STAR system combines rounded bearing edges, oil-finished maple interiors, low-contact hardware, and rubber-isolated mounting points. Die-cast zinc hoops provide a focused attack and consistent tuning feel, while Quick-Lock brackets make setup and breakdown straightforward. Drums only; hardware and cymbals are sold separately.

• 5mm, 5-ply maple shells with a 2mm solid core ply and cross-laminated plies; curly maple outer ply in Ocean Blue.
• Rounded bearing edges with a peak positioned 3.5mm from the shell’s outer surface to increase head-to-shell contact.
• Hand-finished, oil-treated maple shell interiors and bearing edges.
• Super Resonant Mounting System uses three contact points and rubber isolation to limit vibration transfer to stands.
• Quick-Lock tom brackets simplify setup and breakdown, retain positioning, and use rubber lining for isolation.
• STAR floor tom legs feature hollow, soft rubber tips designed to absorb impact while supporting natural resonance and sustain.
• Bass drum spurs use soft, high-mass rubber feet; their two-piece construction separates the metal spike with rubber to absorb impact.
• Low-mass bridge lugs, floating bass drum claw hooks, an imprinted badge, and a small wooden air-hole grommet minimize shell contact and added weight.
• Die-cast zinc hoops offer consistent shape, crisp attack, projection, and a focused tone; Hold Tight washers help resist tension-rod loosening.
