D'Angelico Excel EXL-1 Marilyn Monroe Limited Edition 2016 – Black Archtop Hollowbody – Gold Hardware – Case & Paperwork

Limited run on their 17" single-cutaway archtop. The gloss black body has a black-and-white Marilyn photo across the top and her signature in red on the lower bout. The headstock has a Marilyn signature in the pearl skyscraper inlay and there's a matching signature inlay on the fingerboard. Gold hardware throughout and D'Angelico's stairstep tailpiece, truss rod cover and pickguard. It plays and sounds like a proper jazz box, with a floating mini-humbucker over a hollow 17" body. This edition has been discontinued for years and doesn't come up often.
