1961 Deluxe 6G3 famed amongst tone affectionados. This one being rather special since it is an early one it has the original Jensen P12Q which many believe to have a superior tone than the Oxfords that were used in subsequent production runs. Original transformers also, a Triad 8160 for the power and a Schumacher 125A1A output. It is documented that Leo used the Triad 8160 in early runs of this amp. The speaker was carefully reconed even using the tan gasket. Recent service replacing only necessary caps, F&T filters and a bias pot was eloquently added without any additional holes or modifications. New tubes JJ, TAD. of course the famous bias tremolo that these are also famous for, with a new foot switch. Grounded power cord and high quality replacement handle added. The grill cloth is a mystery since it looks old and has a great patina, but is not the wheat color used on the brown panel combos, instead is the tweed era oxblood with gold stripes. Was it replaced long ago or was it again Leo used his existing stock of parts in the early transition from tweed to brown panel amps. I’ve included a pic of the staples that sure look like they are old and original. So I’m saying possibly original, but not sure. These Brown Deluxe amps are special already, with this one having a few attributes that definitely make it more rare and a notch up from others. Ready to play out of the box, needs nothing. Pro packed for safe delivery. For sale locally and on Facebook Marketplace also. You can come see it and hear it in person in Middletown NJ if you like.
