Mountain Banjo, Fretless, poplar & maple, new, made in West Virginia!!

I finished this one today October 31st 2026 and will be my last one for awhile so do look at my other listings and pick out your favorite while it’s still there! 
This one I stained dark but in the light it’s more of a reddish maroon complex tone. I drew a different sound hole design on the back which people always like. It measures 37 3/4” overall, 11” wide, 2 1/4” side height, and I have the bridge 26” from the nut in the photos. This has a V neck profile which is a very old style but feels very comfortable in the hands. The Aquila 1b super nylgut strings give it a great sound and even though I brought these strings up to standard tuning 3 times they will still take about 2 weeks to stretch and settle in. The solid ebony violin pegs are fit in holes made with violin peg reamers which cut the same thickness and taper as the pegs so you get the best friction fit and even more so the more you push in. I will include a set of guidelines but they are very simple and easy to tune like a violin. I been making these for a little over 30 years but I’m still a very small cluttered one man show so to speak and each one is slightly different so no two are exactly alike. Each sale directly impacts my life as it’s my only source of income. I make more to sell when something comes up that I need more money for and I got 3 months behind when the May 27 flood happened where I rebuilt the bridge myself and did the cleanup at my own expense which still cost a lot especially my time. So when I sell the 8 banjos I got listed here then I can get that card paid off so any business you can give me or get for me would be a real blessing. Then I probably just go on making one or two banjos off an on like I usually do and get more outside work done before winter comes in full swing.
