Gibson ES175 | 1966 Kalamazoo | Vintage 1966

No, this is not a reissue; it is an authentic 1966 ES-175—the ultimate instrument for a jazz guitarist.
The guitar is attractively priced for the following reasons:
- It has sustained a headstock/neck break, which has been very neatly restored.
- Gibson only offered the ES-175 with inlays, never with dot markers. Since the dot placement does not match Gibson’s specifications, the fretboard has most likely been replaced.
- The bridge does not appear to be original; in 1966, these were made of wood. This metal bridge, however, provides good intonation.
- The jack plate does not appear to be original.
- The nut is not original.
Everything else is original, including the potentiometers, tuners, and the incomparable "patent" humbucker! The nitrocellulose finish on the body is also original; the back of the neck, both the upper and lower sections, has clearly been refinished, presumably in connection with the fretboard replacement and the repair of the neck break.
It sounds fantastic, even though I am not a jazz guitarist myself. The fretwork and setup are in excellent condition; the instrument has been fully adjusted by our luthier and is completely ready to play.
All guitars come with a 3-month warranty covering hidden flaws or technical defects (excluding normal wear and tear).
