The Planet Tone 1969 Voodoo Hot pickups are handmade in the USA using Alnico V magnets, plain-enamel wire and vintage-inspired construction. The neck pickup measures 6.1kΩ, while the 6.3kΩ middle pickup is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity. They provide vintage Stratocaster clarity and dynamics with punchy lows, additional midrange and classic notch-position character.
The bridge position features a high-output Seymour Duncan JB Jr. measuring 15.2kΩ. This single-coil-sized humbucker uses a ceramic magnet and provides powerful upper mids, tight lows, strong harmonics and excellent sustain. It delivers a much hotter bridge sound without requiring a full-size humbucker route.
The push/pull tone control activates a neck-on modification—commonly called a 7-way Strat or Gilmour mod. In addition to the five standard pickup settings, it provides:
- Neck and bridge pickups together
- All three pickups operating together
The roasted rosewood neck and flatter 12-inch radius provide smooth modern playability, particularly for string bending and playing higher on the neck. Fender locking tuning machines improve tuning stability and make string changes faster.
This is a distinctive and highly versatile Stratocaster that covers vintage single-coil clarity, hotter rock-oriented bridge tones and additional pickup combinations.
