This is a 1980 Fender Precision Bass from the two year International Color Series in Morocco Red. The original pickguard was replaced long ago with a quality vintage WD Music tortoise shell. The electronics have also been replaced with Fender Pure Vintage '60 pickup, CTS 250k pots, orange drop capacitor and Switchcraft output jack using quality pushback wire. In addition, the rosewood fretboard has been converted to fretless. The procedure was well done. Everything else appears to be original, including the Fender stamped Schaller tuning machines and neckplate. The nut width is 1.62" and the bass weighs 9lbs 15oz. There is a Fender date sticker (12/08/80)in the pickup route. Headstock serial and body serial numbers match. The condition is commensurate with an instrument that has been played and enjoyed throughout its life. The paint has checking, dings, scratches and texture in places from sitting in a case. It has had a complete setup and everything functions as it should and plays well. Comes with a Fender TSA flight case that has seen some flying and has suffered some damage along the way.
