This is a nice example of what Ludwig called “Walnut Cortex”. This particular drum is a 15x12 and Ludwig obviously built the drum from their regular shell stock with dual side edges and re-rings, so this could easily be converted to a dual head drum (I’ve done it many times…The USA mini lug is easy to find).
Please see the pics for the cosmetics. It’s an overall nice looking drum with some obvious sign of wear here and there. The edges are typical of Ludwig at the time (ie. Not super great/precise), but the drum sounds good and is ready to play! note: IN MY OPTION, I WOULD LEAVE THE SEAM ALONE. I don’t think it’s going anywhere for ages
