Takamine EG523SC-12 – A Closet Classic with 12 Strings of Shimmer! 🎸

Here's one I'm having second thoughts about selling.

Every once in a while, a guitar comes along that makes me wonder why I keep doing this buying-and-selling thing. This Takamine is one of them.

A real closet classic, this beautiful jumbo 12-string spent much of its life tucked away rather than being played. I've since given it the attention it deserves, cleaned it up, refurbished and set it up, and brought it back to life.

And what a life it has!

The condition? Immaculate. The looks? So pretty they almost hurt my eyes. 😎

But the real treat begins when you strum it.

🎶 Oh, That Shimmer!

There's something about a good 12-string that a six-string just can't duplicate.

This Takamine has a wonderfully open, melodic, detailed voice, with beautiful separation between notes and that unmistakable 12-string shimmer. Full-bodied chords ring out with richness and sparkle, while individual notes remain distinct and musical.

It's a big, beautiful jumbo, and it sounds like one.

Best of all, it's set up for comfortable, enjoyable playing. No need to wrestle with twelve strings to make music.

🔌 Plug It In!

The onboard Takamine TK-40 preamp and tuner make this guitar a versatile acoustic-electric.

With onboard tone-shaping controls and a convenient tuner, it's ready for everything from quiet playing at home to plugging into an amplifier or PA.

And yes, it sounds terrific plugged in, too!

🎸 A Final Thought

I buy, play, clean up, and pass along guitars because I genuinely enjoy the whole process. Every so often, though, one makes me question the passing-along part.

This is one of those guitars.

If you've been looking for a beautiful, great-playing 12-string with that wonderful ringing, shimmering sound, this Takamine deserves your attention.

And if I change my mind about selling it, well... you've been warned. 😉
