This amp is in excellent condition, with none of the stains, dings, rust, etc., you might find on an older amp.

DO THE MATH: At $1,200, it’s less than half the cost of a Custom Deluxe. And it’s a much better amp.

This amp was built by a small boutique builder in the Washington, DC, area approximately 15 years ago. Has approximately 15 watts, like the original amps from the late 1950s. 

IT’S THE SPEAKER that really makes this amp sing! It’s a 12 inch alnico JBL D123 vintage speaker from the late 50s to mid 60s in origin. It sounds great in this amp. The builder of the amp was able to acquire four or five  of these speakers, I believe in new condition, and he knew how good it sounded, so he built an equivalent number of tweed amps using these speakers. This is one of them. The JBL D123 was originally designed to put in tight enclosures due to its shallow depth. Musicians heard the JBL sound and started using them in amps to great effect. 

The amp is made from highest quality components: finger jointed pine cabinet from BetterBilt covered in lacquered tweed, power and output transformers from Mercury Magnetics, Switchcraft jacks, Carling switches, CTS pots, caps are Sprague Blue can and Orange drops, Hoffman type board, Mojo chassis, resistors are Carbon Comp type. A custom-made brown vinyl cover with white piping is also included.

The amp features a WY3GT rectifier tube, two 6v6 power tubes and two 12AX7 pre-amp tubes.

Four inputs for the 2 channels are interactive with the tone and volume controls. Lots of tones can be unlocked, especially if you " jumper" the two channels with a mini cable (included). The “Ground” switch is actually a standby switch.
