Bird’seye Maple / Englemann Spruce
This 1996 Flatiron 2MB is a teardrop mandolin with a round soundhole and a flat top and back. The top has great depth and shimmer in the Englemann Spruce. The Bird’seye Maple back and sides are also chock full of figure.
The Rosewood peghead overlay has silkscreen The Flatiron logo at top and trussrod access just above the nut. Nickel Shaller tuners with pearloid knobs. Ebony nut. Ebony fingerboard w/ cut diamond pearl inlays. Black binding around fingerboard. Ebony intonated non-adjustable bridge. Top edge of body has single black binding.
This is a very clean instrument that was hardly used. It has a bigger voice than you may think. Bright and lilting highs and solid bass.
Comes with its original chipboard case.
