Gibson Country Western 1962-64
1962-64 Country Western SJN. This guitar is rediculously resonant. No wonder Cheryl Crow and Gillian Welch play them. One very important issue with these 60s Gibson’s is the nut width. Gibson did most of these with a 1 9/16 nut width which is terrible! This one has the standard vintage nut width of 1 11/16. It is a canon! No cracks anywhere. The binding is perfect. It has a few bumps and bruises and lots of cool finish checking - really in great shape for its age. Action is low with lots of saddle so no need for a neck reset anytime soon. The tone-sucking adjustable bridge/saddle was replaced before I got it and was very well done. Message me with any questions and if you are in SoCal come play it. I’m selling b/c my aging shoulders don’t tolerate dreadnoughts any more. My loss your gain. About the price: you’ll see cheaper ones listed but they usually have cracks, repairs or issues and most likely have the 1 9/16 nut. A dealer would likely sell this guitar for well over $7k. Another point of interest is that this guitar is basically a Hummingbird without the sunburst or fancy pickguard - that’s my understanding. My price is fair - come play it. Comes with a Martin TKL hard case.
