Up for sale is a 1959 Guild M-20 acoustic guitar featuring the desirable early "ghost label." Built in Hoboken, New Jersey, this is a wonderful example of Guild's early small-bodied, all-mahogany acoustics.
The M-20 is known for its warm, woody tone, dry vintage character, and remarkable responsiveness. Its compact body makes it exceptionally comfortable to play, whether fingerpicking, strumming, or playing blues and folk.
Early examples like this one are particularly appealing for their lightweight construction, understated design, and distinctive vintage sound. The ghost label is a sought-after feature of these early Guild instruments.

Has typical dings/scratches of a >65 year old, well-used instrument. Of particular note is an X-shaped mark scratched into the soundboard below the bridge, and a crudely routed hole where the endpin should be, likely for a pickup (which I replaced with an endpin jack to cover the hole). Lastly, there is a very small crack starting at the soundhole and going toward the bridge; I had a luthier look at it and he told me it did not appear to be a growing crack, but he filled it with glue just to be safe. Otherwise no cracks in the body. Action is low and the neck is straight, and it is a very fun/easy guitar to play. Includes a non-original Gator classical guitar case, which fits this guitar quite well. Feel free to reach out with questions.
Thanks!
