Rare Fender Precision Bass with Gold Metal Pickguard

I hate to part with this baby, but I’m retired, and it’s time for him to find a new home with someone who will give him the love and appreciation he deserves.

This is a rare Fender Precision Bass featuring a gold metal pickguard. I bought it at a pawnshop in Santa Monica, California, back in 1995. The moment I saw it, I fell in love. I put some money down and came back with the rest of the cash to bring it home.

It’s been with me ever since, traveling with me and earning its place in countless studio sessions. The tone of this bass is incredible—one of those round sounds that melts people’s hearts.

A small wooden thumb rest for the right hand was added by my guitar repair technician years ago. It’s made from a similar type of wood and can be easily removed if the new owner prefers the original look.

The bridge is not original. It has a Badass Bass II bridge, possibly installed by a previous owner as an upgrade from the original bridge. As far as I know, everything else is original.

OPTION: You, the buyer, have the option to buy it as is, or I can have the gold pickguard cleaned. No price difference.

This bass has been part of my musical journey for decades, and I hope its next owner will enjoy it as much as I have.
