This 1960 Gibson ES-330T is, hands down, among the very finest instruments I've come across in roughly 20 years of pursuing such things. I've owned countless instruments from this pre-'65 golden era, and this is one of maybe three to really "wow" me, the other two costing many times this, yet being no better.
This particular guitar is the most resonant electric I've ever encountered, with phenomenal acoustic projection (truly the ultimate couch guitar), weighing absolutely nothing (I'd guess high-4 pound range, low-5's at most), and with the most comfortable neck profile I've played- not really a conventional slim '60, but neither a chunky '59... somewhere perfectly in-between.
Condition-wise, I paid a premium for this thing when I bought it a few years ago due to the fact that i'd never seen a cleaner vintage guitar.
The only cosmetic issue worth noting is that slight scratch on the headstock rear- that's it, and even that is only visible up-close and from certain angles. Besides that, completely normal/typical feint swirling and such from casual/light play. Most notable, in my opinion, is the complete lack of checking. My understanding is that the original owner only played this as his Sunday guitar for the first few years after getting it, but then carefully tucked it away for the long sleep. Even the case is overall in great shape except for one small gouge in the headstock area, and the fact the inner flap is detached (happy to makeshift reconnect it).
Sound-wise, my golly, this thing is as sweet and syrupy as honey... the unique pickup placement makes for a truly unique sound, particularly as far as the mids go. This thing is just jumping with harmonics and overtones, I'm attaching a video of me playing it with some gain for your consideration. Cleans are gorgeous, big, bold, articulate. Certainly not a guitar I'd think to do any high gain work with, but up to medium overdrive levels, it absolutely sings.
Anyways, enough yapping- will let the photos do the rest of the talking. You'll never see a cleaner vintage instrument, short of finding genuine sealed-in-box NOS (maybe Dirk has that?).
P.S. Have a look what one of the UK's biggest collectors has to say about these one-pickup darlings here (around 10:15):
Regarding shipping (anywhere, but especially to the USA given these strange times): you are on the hook for any/all duties, tariffs, taxes, brokerage fees, and any other additional costs which might arise post sale. Frankly, I'd prefer to just be sent a label for shipping, in which case I'd of course refund you the shipping cost on here. In any case, feel free to message me before buying to work out any kinks re: shipping. Happy to chat.
