This is the MXR Fullbore Metal, model M116: a high-gain distortion with a three-band EQ and a noise gate built in. Volume, Freq and Gain are on the top row with the Gate and Scoop buttons between them, and Low, Mid and High are below.
Gain sets the amount of distortion and Volume the overall level. Freq picks where the Mid knob works, anywhere from 200 Hz to 5 kHz. Scoop boosts the lows and highs while the EQ keeps working, and Gate turns on the noise gate, which sharpens the attack on syncopated riffs and cuts noise; a small trim inside sets how fast it closes. Input and the power jack are on the right side, output on the left. It runs on a 9-volt battery under the bottom plate or a 9-volt adapter, and bypass is true hardwire.
