Based upon the D.W. Fearn Line Pad (LP), this is a specially designed PAD to use with the Neumann M149. This will lower the microphone level of the M149 to be used with high-quality microphone preamps like the VT-1 and VT-2, but it also works well with other microphone preamp that wouldn't have an included PAD. It gets the M149 level inside the preamp sweet gain spot. The unit has 2 channels, so you can do stereo pairs if needed...
