Kallisti Percussion 11 Bar Marimba- Orff Style, C Pentatonic Scale- 2000s - Hardwood

Beautiful handcrafted solid-wood diatonic marimba/xylophone tuned to a C Pentatonic scale.

These Kallisti instruments are quite rare, known for being top-quality, and are no longer in production.

The original manufacturer label has fallen off, but the specidic design, shape, materials, and quality are dead giveaways.

Unlike mass-produced plastic or composite classroom xylophones, this boutique-style instrument offers a rich, resonant tone and maximum sustain that is perfect for acoustic recording, early childhood music education (Montessori/Waldorf), or music therapy. The pentatonic tuning ensures a harmonious, no-fail playing experience.

Condition:

Great overall condition. The instrument has been carefully cleaned and the wooden tone bars have been lightly conditioned with oil to protect the wood and preserve the tuning.

Cosmetics: Shows very minor scuffs on the resonator box from regular use.

Two of the wooden bars show some visible playing wear/damage from mallet strikes (please see the close-up photos), but tuning and playability are unaffected.

The wear is strictly cosmetic and has not affected the tuning or structural integrity of the bars. The instrument still tracks beautifully and sounds fantastic.

Mallets included.
