Mighty fine Collings MF, s/n 1243, which places it as a 2011 model. This example features; lovely gloss top option, exceptional woods, excellent appointments and a delightful voice. Also sports a K & K internal pickup and an upgraded James tailpiece.
Adirondack Spruce top in a cremona sunburst gloss lacquer finish, figured Maple back/sides/neck in a satin lacquer finish. Single Ivoroid bound top, adjustable Ebony bridge, radius Ebony fretboard and parallel tone bars. Nickel hardware includes Golden Age tuning gears with Ivoroid buttons and James tailpiece. K & K internal pick-up.
A delightful sounding mandolin that a deep, dark and woody tone. A rich and full sounding instrument. Excellent volume and stout bluegrass chop.
Excellent-plus condition overall. Top shows light playwear here and there and some light button rash where the arm rests. Headstock has a couple string scratches and a finish blemish on the curve of headstock near the nut, bass side. Also has a similar finish blemish on the edge of the scroll, back side. Frets have no wear to speak of.
