This 1960 Gibson ES-355 (S/N: A35004) is an exceptionally clean example finished
in Cherry, featuring original PAF humbucking pickups, factory mono wiring, and a
Bigsby vibrato. Weighing just 8 lbs. 6 oz., it is exceptionally light for an ES-355,
adding to the appeal of an already outstanding vintage Gibson. The guitar retains its
original brown case with pink lining, and the factory order number is R 53182 1.
The ES-355 represented the pinnacle of Gibson’s semi-hollow electric line,
combining elegant appointments with the unmistakable character of its PAF
pickups. This example brings together excellent condition, original PAFs, the factory
mono configuration, and a Bigsby, with its remarkably light weight making it all the
more appealing. A beautiful and highly collectible ES-355 from one of Gibson’s most
celebrated periods. Even Keith Richards would approve.
