This started life as a 68' Custom 2x10 Vibrolux Reverb I took in on trade. It's now an amp that Fender never offered, a Vibrolux Reverb with a single 12" speaker. The Tonespeak Austin speaker is a perfect match for this. Amp has plenty of good clean headroom with the new 40 watt Heyboer OT, it nails the clean/crunchy country with a Tele.
I did the following modifications:
Neaten up the circuit lead dress
New Heyboer 8 ohm 40 watt output transformer
New 12" speaker baffle, I only use grade A Baltic Birch (see photo)
New ToneSpeak Austin 1250 12" 50 watt speaker
New Tung Sol 6L6GC STR power tube upgrade
I just wanted to do something different with this. There's plenty of 2x10 VR's out there. I also build amps from scratch so it's all done correctly and it's in like new condition.
