Martin 1995 000-42EC First Year — the first Eric Clapton signature model, limited to 461 units worldwide in its debut year, capturing the tone and looks of the 000-42 made famous by Clapton's landmark Unplugged performance.

Introduced in 1995 following the worldwide acoustic boom sparked by Unplugged in 1992. Features a signature inlay at the end of the fingerboard, and the soundhole label is hand-signed by both Eric Clapton and C.F. Martin IV — a true collector's piece that is also a fully usable player's instrument.

The 000 body's clear string-to-string separation combines with the top-grade tonewoods and fine abalone inlay work of Style 42 to produce sparkling overtones and a glossy, bluesy, transparent tone. After nearly 30 years, the Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood have aged and opened up, delivering rich sustain and quick response you can't get from a new guitar. The vintage V neck, a hallmark of the Clapton models, fits comfortably in the hand.

With only 461 made, good-playing examples with a fully opened-up sound rarely come to market.

Playing scratches, scuffs, and small dings on the top, with no effect on playability. Crack repair above the soundhole. Crack repairs along the abalone trim on both sides of the fingerboard end. Signs of a previous neck reset at the neck heel. Nut has been replaced.

[Playing Condition]
No choking or buzzing; playing condition is good. Action at the 12th fret: 2.2mm 4th-string side, 1.9mm 1st-string side. Saddle protrusion approximately 1.5mm.
