1970 Gibson EB-2D Bass – Sunburst – Vintage Gibson Hardshell Case

Beautiful 1970 Gibson EB-2D semi-hollow bass in Sunburst finish, featuring the classic dual-pickup configuration, three-way pickup selector, baritone switch, and independent volume and tone controls.

I purchased this bass in 2020 from a previous owner who represented it as an all-original example, apart from the installation of Dunlop locking strap buttons. The original Gibson strap buttons are included in the case. No additional modifications have been made during my ownership.

Condition

The bass is in Very Good vintage condition, showing age-appropriate finish checking, light scratches, and normal signs of handling and use. The Sunburst finish remains attractive, with particularly nice color and character.

All electronics have been recently tested and are fully functional, including both pickups, the three-way selector, baritone switch, and volume and tone controls.

The bass retains its original-style pickup covers, bridge hardware, pickguard, and Gibson-branded tuning machines. Originality of individual components has not been independently authenticated.

Bass weighs approximately 9 lb

Included Case

Includes a vintage Gibson hardshell case with purple plush interior. The case shows substantial cosmetic wear consistent with its age, including peeling exterior covering at the lower end, but remains structurally sound and functional for carrying and storing the instrument. The case is period-correct, although its original association with this particular bass is not documented.
