A beautiful octagonal 4/4 violin bow made by August Rau in Markneukirchen Germany in the early 1900's. It is 61g including hair, fully lined sterling mounted ebony frog with Parisian eye decoration, sterling button, 745 mm total length, 182mm balance, and Lucci 4982m/s. Rau worked with some of the very best bow makers of hi time including the Nurnburger family, Knopf, and Weichold and mentored many succesful bow makers who followed. This is an extremely nice example of his work. (bv1_25)
