This is a hand-carved vintage 1978 E. R. Pfretzschner full-sized violin (4/4) made with beautiful aged spruce top and flamed maple back and sides. (model A211/C) It was crafted in Mittenwald, Germany using the same traditional tools and quality tonewoods that make these old violins famous and attractive. It also has ebony fingerboard, premium tuning pegs (Caspari-style geared pegs) and a hand-carved bridge. The varnish is hand rubbed in giving it an aged, matt finish that looks great! This instrument is in very good condition both structurally and cosmetically. There are a few minor scuffs and a scratch near the tailpiece but for a 45+ year old violin it really is in very good shape! The sound/tone is rich and its set up to play! This is a much better choice than the new factory made laminated violins typically sold on ebay, reverb or amazon. A bow and hardshell case are included with the sale.
