Overview: Iconic, gorgeous, and classy -- what else? A Non-cutaway L-5 is the quintessential acoustic jazz guitar and this one is both beautiful and a player with a ton of carrying-power and guts. It's tonebar-braced and is loud and proud -- and its longer scale length gives it a bit more snap than its more-relaxed, 24 3/4" scale cousins in the Gibson lineup.

If you're into all the trim (multi-lined binding, big old deco pickguards and tailpieces, big block pearl inlay, and a fancy headstock) this, of course, has it. Let's also not forget the carved, flamed-maple back, flamed maple sides, and flamed maple, two-piece neck. It's a champ!

Repairs included: It had a some work done on it a decade or so ago (new pickguard, likely a neck reset, and associated work) and it arrived here almost ready to go. I did give it a light level/dress of the frets, slightly refit the pickguard mount to give it a more traditional fit at the fretboard extension, and set it up with a fresh set of roundwound strings (as opposed to the flats it came-in with). It's playing spot-on and is ready to go.

Condition notes: The original pickguard is in the case and has a little bit of celluloid rot but it still looks handsome to me. While I'm not sure, I'm thinking it's very likely that the metal hardware (tailpiece, pickguard bracket, and tuners) were replated at some point. They're gleaming. The finish appears to be original throughout but it's so clean and free of heavier weather-check (it has some light stuff, especially seen at the sides) that I suppose it may have been hit with overspray at some point, though it has none of the "thicker finish" look or feel I would expect from that.

It comes with: It has its original, brown, pink-lined, hard case and original pickguard.
