1987 Marshall Silver Jubilee JCM25/50 Model 2550 — Original Owner Half-Stack with Matching 2551AV Cabinet

Original 1987-era Marshall Silver Jubilee 50-watt amplifier head and matching 4×12 speaker cabinet — Made in England.

Offered for sale is my Marshall Silver Jubilee JCM25/50 Model 2550 amplifier head, accompanied by its matching silver Marshall 2551AV 4×12 cabinet.

I purchased this half-stack brand-new while in high school and have been its sole owner ever since. It has seen very little use over nearly four decades, spending much of its life carefully stored rather than regularly played or transported.

This is an original late-1980s Silver Jubilee amplifier, not a modern reissue.

THE AMPLIFIER — MARSHALL MODEL 2550

• Original 1987-era Marshall JCM25/50 Silver Jubilee 50-watt head
• Distinctive silver Jubilee finish and matching front panel
• Made in England
• Vintage Drake transformers
• Vintage blue LCR filter capacitors dated 87-12
• Original-era internal components visible in the photographs
• Switchable vintage aftermarket modification, described below
• Very limited use throughout its lifetime

The amplifier has not been extensively restored or modernized. Its internal components, including the vintage capacitors, are shown in the photographs for buyers who wish to evaluate its condition and originality.

MATCHING MARSHALL 2551AV 4×12 CABINET

Included is the matching silver Marshall 2551AV speaker cabinet, featuring:

• Four Marshall-branded Celestion G12 Vintage speakers
• Original-style silver Jubilee covering
• Cabinet rating: 280 watts RMS / 8 ohms
• Made in England

Photographs of the cabinet interior and individual speaker labels are included so prospective buyers can inspect the speaker configuration.

The head and cabinet are being sold together as one complete half-stack.

VINTAGE SWITCHABLE MODIFICATION

At some point early in the amplifier's life, a modification was installed that added an additional control knob and bypass switch to the front panel.

The modification remains in place and can be switched in or out of the signal path.

The amplifier was recently tested, and the modification and bypass function operated during testing.

The added controls are clearly visible in the listing photographs. This modification is disclosed so buyers understand that the amplifier is not entirely factory-original.

CONDITION, OWNERSHIP & RECENT TESTING

I am the original owner, having purchased this amplifier new during my high-school years.

The amplifier has experienced relatively little use and has spent much of its life in storage. It has not been subjected to decades of regular touring or professional stage use.

Recently, I connected the amplifier to its matching cabinet using a proper speaker cable and tested its operation. It powered up and produced excellent guitar tone during the demonstration.

Important vintage electronics disclosure: The amplifier retains aging electronic components, including original-era filter capacitors. Although it operated during recent testing, it has not undergone a comprehensive recent professional inspection or servicing. A qualified amplifier technician should inspect the electronics before extended or high-volume use.

Cosmetic wear consistent with age, storage, and handling is present. Please examine all photographs carefully, including the amplifier interior, modification, cabinet, and speaker components.
