RARE Ludwig Vistalite 15x14" tom
Our users rate Reverb
Super rare vintage Ludwig Vistalite 15x14 size (most 15s are rack toms at 15x12). This is definitely a floor tom size. This is not a concert tom conversion. It was apparently a special order from the Ludwig factory.
It has a Classic rack tom mount, but I prefer floor tom legs, so I bought genuine Ludwig brackets and floor tom legs to install, but never got around to it. I left the painters tape on the shell in case you would like to do it yourself. I will include the brand new Ludwig floor tom brackets, Ludwig floor tom legs, and acrylic drill bit. This hardware is worth a good amount of money by itself.
This drum sounds fantastic! It has the perfect floor tom sound... a punchy and deep rumble.
The serial number suggests it was made around 1979. The shell and chrome are in Excellent condition, especially for its age! No cracks in the shell. There is a little corrosion on the bottom hoop. I took a pic of the worst of it.
Comes with new heads! Remo Pinstripe on top, Ambassador clear on bottom.
Let me know if you have any questions. You're unlikely to find another one like it!
