Up for sale is a compact and lightweight Korg X50 Music Synthesizer. This unit is being sold as an unfinished repair project. The internal HI (Hyper Integrated) synthesis engine is fully intact, and the keyboard functions and sounds wonderful when played over MIDI input. It is an ideal candidate for someone looking for a killer, portable Korg sound module to trigger from a DAW/master controller, or a tech who wants to wrap up a straightforward keybed trace repair.

🟢 Serviced & Functional Highlights

• 100% Operational Synth Engine: The synthesizer boots up perfectly, accesses all menus, loads patches, and outputs beautiful, clean audio.
• Perfect Over MIDI: Connect a MIDI controller or computer, and you can play the full range of the synth engine with zero issues.
• Upper Keybed Functions: The upper (second half) of the physical keybed works and plays perfectly.

🔴 Known Issues & Diagnostic Notes (Read Thoroughly!)

• Lower Keybed Defect: The lower (first half) of the keybed does not play correctly. Pressing keys on this half either triggers multiple incorrect notes simultaneously or produces no sound at all.
• Repair History:
• Replaced both multiplexer ICs on the keybed PCBs with brand-new ones.
• Replaced both in-circuit electrolytic capacitors (one on the keybed PCB and one on the main board).
• I discovered some corroded traces on one of the keybed PCBs and carefully repaired them using wrapping wire jumpers, which are neatly secured with small amounts of hot glue. All jumpers have confirmed continuity. Because the multiplexers and caps are brand new, I suspect there is simply another hairline corroded/broken trace somewhere on the lower keybed lines that I missed.
• Cosmetics: The unit shows its age with typical surface scratches on both the top and bottom plastic chassis. Additionally, the physical keys show some light, standard vintage yellowing.
• Item Not Included: A power supply is not included (it requires a standard Korg 12V DC center-positive adapter).

Terms of Sale:
Because the lower register of the physical keybed requires additional trace diagnostics to function, this synthesizer is sold completely AS-IS with no returns and no refunds. Serious buyers only.
