Armstrong Alto sax 3006A with Hard Case

** FRESH OVERHAUL – STUDENT READY**

No mouthpiece but recommend 4C yamaha for a student – Ready to go to the band room Great shape, leak free, with about 90-95 % lacquer. Maybe a small dent or two. These Horns are highly undervalued.  I overhauled this horn to use as my second for stage performance. I’m Letting it go because I have built three vintage altos that I use now. I hate to see a horn just sitting.  I’m alto poor! This horn plays as good as the Yamaha Yas 23 at a fraction of the price! but with better vintage tone IMO. Plays effortlessly all the way down to Bb (this may not be the case for a brand-new student).  I would love to see a student get this.

Armstrong 3006A Alto Saxophone - $475 OBO - FRESH OVERHAUL - Players Horn!

List of recent work:

  • ·         Thorough COA - Clean, oil, adjust (polished and degreased all rods with Naphtha)
  • ·         Replaced 18 of the 25 pads
  • ·         Replaced 85% of the felt and cork adjustment materials
  • ·         Gently leveled tone holes
  • ·         Added key stop for the right-hand high F# (didn’t like the way it was designed)
  • ·         Replaced neck cork
  • ·         Added Teflon to areas where keywork “slides” to improve action.
  • ·         Repaired one slightly pushed in post

 FROM GOOGLE AI:

A professional overhaul combined with 95% intact original lacquer places this specific Armstrong 3006A in the absolute highest tier of market value for this model, typically commanding between $500 and $650 on platforms like eBay or Reverb. Because a complete professional overhaul typically costs between $600 and $1,200 depending on the repair shop, the technical service actually costs more than the market value of the horn itself. However, it makes the saxophone an incredible asset for a student or intermediate player who needs a highly reliable mechanical instrument without the premium price tag of a newer Yamaha.
