Overview

The Fostex 6301ND is the latest generation of the compact active monitor that has been a fixture in broadcast facilities and small-scale sound reinforcement for more than 30 years. This self-powered speaker pairs a 10cm full-range cone driver with a built-in Class-D amplifier rated at 20W, producing clear, stable sound from a small footprint. The series comes in four models with different input specifications, so there’s a version suited to nearly any monitoring or small-venue setup.

Compared to the previous 6301B-H series, the 6301N doubles the rated output from 10W to 20W while using less power. Frequency response has also been widened from 80–13,000 Hz to 70–15,000 Hz, giving you more low-end depth and high-end detail. An eco-friendly standby mode, compliant with Europe’s ErP Directive, drops power consumption to 0.5W or less after about 25 minutes without signal and wakes instantly when audio returns.

The 6301N keeps the same width and height as the 6301B-H, so it can replace older units without any changes to the installation. It’s housed in a rugged die-cast aluminum enclosure and uses a detachable inlet-type power cable. For wall mounting with angle adjustment, pair it with the optional EB-6301 wall mounting bracket.
