Overview

The Fostex RM-3DT is a Dante-equipped active monitor speaker that fits into just 1 RU of rack space, making it ideal for space-limited environments like machine rooms, surveillance operations, and mobile or fixed control rooms. It accepts digital audio over a Dante network via an RJ45 connection, as well as stereo analog sources through two balanced XLR inputs, so it works with a wide range of systems. Audio can be routed to the built-in rectangular stereo speakers in one of four output modes, letting you monitor either or both of any two channels extracted from the Dante stream, with each speaker driven by 10W of onboard amplification.

Dual 26-dot LED meters give you a clear view of your levels and can display VU, VU + Peak, VU + Peak Hold, or Peak + Peak Hold, with four adjustable brightness settings to suit your room. The volume knob doubles as a mute switch that can be set for full mute or 20dB attenuation, and a front-panel 1/4" headphone jack lets you monitor privately without sending sound through the speakers. On the rear, two balanced XLR outputs pass the analog input through to another destination.

The RM-3DT supports sample rates up to 96kHz, and its digital amplifier and switching power supply keep power consumption down to just 10W. Since it shares the exact dimensions of the standard RM-3, it can be swapped into existing racks without any modifications.
