Made in the 1990s in the Kurokumo factory of Japan, this Mosrite Ventures Model Mark I Reissue is finished in a striking, deep Candy Apple Red metallic finish. Crafted with exceptional attention to detail (Serial #4259), this guitar is an incredibly faithful tribute to the ultra-desirable 1963/1964 specifications. It features the legendary, stylized "reversed" offset double-cutaway body shape and a lightning-fast, ultra-slim neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. In the hand, the neck feels exceptionally fast, sporting the signature ultra-slim, low-profile carve that Mosrite is famous for, making complex chord shapes and quick lead runs effortless. It plays beautifully with low, smooth action across the fretboard and excellent tuning stability from the smooth-rolling bridge. Plugged in, it sounds incredibly punchy and dynamic, delivering a fat, high-output single-coil chime with plenty of mid-range bite that nails everything from classic surf-rock drip to raw, aggressive garage rock. Cosmetically, this guitar is in great used condition showing minimal play wear from previous use and even still has the original plastic on the pick guard. The intonation is spot on, the action is excellent and there is no fret wear apparent from previous use. This guitar has been professionally set up with new strings and weighs in at 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
