1968 Altec Lansing 1592A Mixer Amplifier Solid State Mixing Unit with 5 Matching PreAmplifier Transformers Super Clean Vintage Mic Pre PreAmp

This vintage Altec 1592a 5x1 mic preamp/mixer is full of cool tones, and is super fun to use - great for tracking old school drums, summing multiple amp mics, or just crunching a signal up to give it a unique character. This listing includes all 5 of the 1588b octal preamps, though one of them doesn't sound like it is in full health (currently plugged into channel 5, the output is a bit low and thin), as well as the pigtail for the output. All of the controls are fully functional, though the unit could benefit from a recap and some contact cleaner. I couldn't replicate it for the demo, but occasionally the unit has a buzz I haven't bothered to track down as it goes away after a power cycle and hasn't really affected me while using it. The top right rack ear was bent before I bought it, but it fits in a rack with no issues.

I'm only selling this unit because I closed my tracking space and it is just sitting on a shelf now. While I will be very sad to see it go, it's too cool of a piece to just let it sit, it needs to be getting used somewhere.
