1952 Salesman Sample WFL drum. Unicorn legend details are scarce. I understand these were built in Chicago to be sent to WFL/ Ludwig dealers to sit in their showrooms to display all the optional finishes and hardware of thier recent drum line. Also stories of Ludwig Re Issuing these as a tribute to the guy from the Black Keys. This is not a reissue. Came from Atlanta Pro Percussion years ago, ended up in G. Asher’s collection before he sold them off. Gary was here recently confirming age and provenance including being signed by two generations of William F Ludwig. Including their autographs. I believe, and could be wrong, that this was built as a snare to showcase snare throw off and buttplate. It does have snare beds. See pictures for details and condition, including matching Bass drum, not included. Great story about a drum built to never be played…. Display/ sample purposes only. Bass drum needs a little work, I’m getting around to it. Message with opinions, comments, insults and more. Bun E knows these. Great story, piece of Ludwig history, and the crowning piece to your collection. Buyer gets first shot at the kick drum. Thanks Gary!
