Classic New York Bach Model 6 VII trombone in near-new condition

If you know what a Bach 6 VII is, no further explanation should be necessary. For a bit of background, some other similar listings give more historical detail.

  • Serial number 3168 indicates manufacture in 1948 or 1949.
  • Slides action is smooth, fast and flawless, with no wear-through.
  • Response, as expected, is excellent throughout the interval series, with good slotting and a big sound that belies its small size.
  • .485" bore, 7" yellow brass bell.
  • New York 6 1/2 AL mouthpiece.
  • Professionally owned and in storage for many years.

The only flaw am aware of is a tiny spot of wear on the lacquer, shown in the last photo of the bell. Very small, but that's full disclosure. The cosmetic appearance otherwise excellent. My local technician doesn't think it has been restored or relacquered; if it has been, then somebody did an excellent job.

The original coffin case is in functional condition: the latches work and there's no bad odor. It's fine for shipping but this instrument deserves a better case or gig bag.
