Beautiful 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in Tobacco Sunburst. Sounds and plays absolutely great, with tons of vintage mojo. Old headstock repair (done in the late 70s, per the previous owner) that is extremely solid. Customary wear as would be expected for a 50+ year old guitar that has been played often - this is definitely not a case queen/closet classic.
All original with the exception of the tuning keys, which were swapped with Grovers in the 70s. I removed original cream trim rings around the pickups, and they are included, along with the original tacks. Also removed the original black plastic trim rings from the tailpiece posts that were occasionally included from the factory on these models. They are included as well.
I gave it my best attempt to photograph the serial number, which is faint due to the refinish related to the headstock repair, but it is visible in-person, and reads 116599. That, combined with the pot codes date this to late 1973.
Overall, this is a very cool example of this model, and fairly early in the Norlin era, before the quality took a major nosedive. Frets are worn but still have life left in them, with no dead frets or issues fretting out. Weight is just under 10lbs 4oz. Includes a late 70s Gibson case with original paperwork and key. Case has one broken latch, as shown, but functions perfectly.
No international sales. Price will include insured shipping to the lower 48, and the guitar will be very well packaged.
