A fantastic workhorse, the Yamaha SG500B is a player favorite competing with Gibson instruments at a much more affordable price point. Complete with deep double cutaway access to higher registers, dual open coil humbuckers, and a Gibson scale, this is a good SG alternative without the neck dive. Sonically, it has a thick voice well suited for any style of rock, blues or fusion.
Mahogany body finished in a nice gloss black finish with cream binding on the slightly arched top. Tune-o-matic bridge setup is familiar with any Gibson player, but its bolt on neck design makes future adjustments much easier if need be. The 22 fret neck has a Gibson style 24.75" scale length with a 1 23/32" nut width. The profile has a standard medium C profile also finished in black, with an unbound rosewood fingerboard.
This example comes to us in great shape showing only aesthetic surface wear present. The action is low, currently setup around 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret, with room for adjustment at the bridge. The neck is nice and straight, the frets clean - making this a great go to for years and years to come.
