This is a 22" Impression "Mixed" model ride cymbal made in Turkey by former Bosphorus cymbalsmiths. Factory inks were removed as was the fake patina in the unlathed sections. We now have a completely natural finish cymbal that will age-in beautifully.

I apply a microscopic layer of a special natural oil to all my cymbals to accelerate the patina process. Some nice benefits to my formula is that it makes for a much more even patina throughout the cymbal and it prevents undesirable copper-blue oxidation from ever forming.

It weighs 2316g and crashes wonderfully. Video link below. My take on the sound. The ride sound is very similar to a K. Zildjian Organic Ride, only with a little more body -not quite as dry thanks to the partial lathing which gives it a little more breath. The crash sound is very much like a big Jo Jo Mayer Fierce Crash! And last but not least, it has an excellent bell.

"Before" pictures are for proof of what this is. Few people know about Impression cymbals, so I felt it was a great candidate to bring back to its natural state. I bought this and another one at a show a few years back, and the other one won out for me because it's a little darker. Excellent condition as shown. No cracks and just a few minor scratches. Beautifully hand-hammered and lathed. The darker spots in the outer unlathed band are natural impurities and the effect of the use of salt water during production -like a Sabian Leopard cymbal.
