The MXR M291 Dyna Comp Mini Compressor is a space-saving version of the classic MXR Dyna Comp, designed to smooth out your guitar's dynamics, add sustain, and give notes a more consistent, polished sound. It delivers the familiar Dyna Comp character in a smaller enclosure that fits easily onto a crowded pedalboard.

A compressor works by reducing the difference between loud and quiet notes. This helps quieter notes remain audible, controls sharp picking attacks, and allows notes to sustain longer. The Dyna Comp Mini is especially useful for clean guitar, country picking, funk rhythms, blues leads, and adding consistency to lightly overdriven tones.

What does it sound like?

• Smooth and even: Helps level out differences in picking strength and note volume.
• Longer sustain: Keeps notes ringing longer, especially useful for melodic lines and solos.
• Punchy attack: Adds a percussive, snappy quality to clean guitar playing.
• Classic compression character: Retains the recognizable, slightly colored Dyna Comp sound rather than aiming for complete transparency.
• More controlled playing dynamics: Helps arpeggios, chord patterns, and fast-picked passages sit more consistently in a mix.
