Seymour Duncan 8-String Sentient Neck Pickup – Passive Mount, Matte Black

The Seymour Duncan 8-String Sentient Neck delivers articulate, balanced response across all eight strings with a moderate output that preserves string definition without sacrificing presence. Built for extended-range instruments, this dual coil humbucker excels at capturing the nuanced dynamics of modern 8-string playing. The matte black finish and passive mounting design integrate seamlessly into most 8-string guitar architectures.

Tone & Output Characteristics

The 10.1k impedance and Alnico 5 bar magnet combine to produce moderate output with excellent harmonic clarity—ideal for both high-gain and clean applications on extended-range guitars. Medium coil strength ensures responsive tracking without excessive noise, allowing each string to register with precision.

Construction & Design

Vacuum wax potted construction eliminates microphonic feedback and ensures durability in demanding playing situations. The nickel silver bottom plate and 4-conductor cable provide reliable signal transmission and wiring flexibility, while handmade manufacturing in Santa Barbara, California reflects Seymour Duncan's commitment to quality control and attention to detail.
