We’ve received a used Tokai HardPuncher from the so-called “Spalogo era,” which was in production until the early 1980s.

This model allows you to experience the exceptional quality unique to that era, faithfully reproducing the basses of major instrument manufacturers.

Although the number “60” is handwritten in the body pocket, the tuning pegs and other parts used are of a different grade (three-point-mount pegs), and while the serial number should normally be seven digits, a six-digit number is engraved on the joint plate. These features make this model extremely difficult to identify with certainty, and it serves as a testament to the transitional period Japanese instrument manufacturers were going through at the time.

While there are dents, scratches, and some discoloration on parts throughout the instrument, the date of manufacture indicates that it was well-cared-for. There is no noticeable fret wear or bothersome control knuckle scuffing. The truss rod still has some adjustment room left.

Its appeal lies in its rich, full-bodied sound! The neck, featuring subtle figure, is another highlight.

Please give it a try.
