Vintage Yamaha FG-140 dreadnought acoustic guitar, Red Label (Nippon Gakki), made in Japan. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, cream tuner buttons, tortoise-style pickguard. Neck block stamped “K”; no serial number found.
Important condition notes (Good):
- The bridge is cracked along the row of pin holes. It remains firmly attached to the top. It will likely need repair or replacement by a luthier.
- Significant cosmetic wear: scuffs, scratches and small dings on the top (concentrated around the lower bout edge), scratches and gouges near the neck heel, and general wear on the back and sides.
- A small paper shim sits in the nut slot under the D string (the third string from the low E), apparently placed intentionally.
- The strings are old and slack, and it will need a full new set.
Sold as-is, and I haven’t had it set up. Please review all photos.
Case: includes a vintage black vinyl hardshell case with cream stitching, in rough condition: rust and tarnish on the latches, a worn-through hole near the tail end, and general wear. The latches close and hold. It protects the guitar for shipping, but it’s not a showpiece.
Shipping: ships within the US only, fully insured, with strings loosened and the case padded inside a double-wall guitar box. Local pickup is available near Framingham, MA. From a family estate.
