2004 Gibson L-1 Robert Johnson Signature
The Gibson L-1 Robert Johnson Signature is based on the small bodied acoustic associated with one of the most important figures in early blues. This 2004 example is particularly interesting as it is the rare left handed version, making it considerably less commonly encountered than the standard right handed model.
The compact body gives the guitar a very different feel from the larger Gibson acoustics of the same period, while the Ebony fingerboard and carved pyramid bridge add to the vintage character of the design. The Robert Johnson signature is inlaid into the fingerboard in Abalone, giving the guitar a distinctive detail without taking away from its understated appearance.
This guitar is in good overall condition, with some minor signs of play wear around the soundhole and general evidence of use. It comes complete with its case.
As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
