Vintage Yamaha PM-430 Analog Mixer — 8-Channel Transformer-Coupled Console — Discrete Yamaha Op-Amps — Original Road Case

A beautifully preserved piece of vintage Japanese audio engineering.

Offered here is a Yamaha PM-430 eight-channel analog sound reinforcement console, featuring vintage transformer-coupled microphone inputs, proprietary Yamaha discrete amplifier modules, classic analog VU meters, and the original woodgrain cabinet.

This is not your typical aging PA mixer. It's a substantial, Japanese-built analog console from an era when Yamaha engineered professional audio equipment for performance, longevity, and serviceability.

The Vintage Analog Architecture

Inside this PM-430 you'll find some particularly interesting circuitry:

  • Eight microphone input channels with what appear to be individual Tamura input transformers
  • Yamaha NE80100 proprietary discrete operational amplifier modules
  • Individual channel circuitry and analog EQ
  • Dual illuminated-style analog VU meters
  • Traditional analog faders and dedicated master controls
  • Original woodgrain cabinet and vintage Yamaha hardware

For recording engineers, vintage analog enthusiasts, and anyone interested in transformer-based signal paths, this console represents an interesting opportunity to acquire original Yamaha circuitry in a complete, unmodified mixer.

Exceptional Original Condition

This particular PM-430 has spent approximately the last 10 years carefully stored.

Before storage, the controls and faders were cleaned and serviced with electronic contact cleaner. The mixer has not been recapped or subjected to modern circuit modifications.

The interior is exceptionally clean, as the photographs demonstrate. The circuit boards, wiring, transformers, and amplifier modules appear remarkably well preserved.

The exterior retains its original woodgrain cabinet, colorful controls, fader caps, and classic dual VU meters.

Includes the protective road case shown in the photographs.

Condition and Testing

The mixer was fully tech'd to clean all faders and pots and placed into storage approximately 10 years ago. It has undergone a complete operational test following storage and fully functional.

It is being offered in all its original glory.

Why This Mixer?

Vintage Yamaha consoles have developed a following among engineers who appreciate their distinctive circuit designs, discrete electronics, and transformer-coupled audio stages.

Whether you're building a vintage-inspired recording setup, restoring classic professional audio equipment, or collecting Japanese analog gear, the PM-430 deserves consideration.

Original. Complete. Exceptionally clean. A genuine piece of Yamaha professional audio history.

Please examine the photographs carefully. Additional detailed photographs are available upon request.
