From my guess, this was designed to compete with the ProTone Cor-Mid-Boost… I bought both at around the same time. Saw Gary Holt using one and at the time I had the same amp, figured id see what he was getting from it. Compared to the ProTone the JHS has superior built quality. The ProTone had badly scratchy pots and they were enclosed so couldn’t even clean em. Tone wise, they really are barking up the same tree, perhaps the ProTone was a LITTLE more aggressive and the JHS was more refined. Also found this box works well in the loop for just taming down a mid heavy amp. Just a touch in the knobs and it really did a great job removing those hard “cardboard“ mods in certain amps.. pricing this to sell considering the amount listed at the moment.
