1962 Gibson ES-125TD Sunburst
Super Gibson!
A voice from the last days of an era. Raw blues, smoky clubs and the unmistakable soul of a vintage Gibson.
There is a particular kind of magic in a Gibson hollow-body from the early 1960s. Long before the electric guitar became a polished symbol of stadium rock, these instruments belonged to a more intimate world: dimly lit blues clubs, late-night jazz sessions, small recording rooms and musicians searching for a sound that was unmistakably their own.
The 1962 Gibson ES-125TD comes from that world.
Finished in its evocative Sunburst, this fully hollow Gibson carries the visual language and musical spirit of an era when the blues was evolving into something louder, rougher and increasingly electric.
The ES-125TD was never about prestige for its own sake. Its appeal lies in its honesty: a hollow wooden body, a pair of P-90 pickups and a direct, expressive voice that puts the player’s touch at the centre of everything.
Plugged into a tube amplifier, its character can move from warm, woody intimacy to a raw, snarling blues voice, with the P-90s delivering the midrange bite and harmonic complexity that have made them legendary. Roll back the volume for delicate jazz phrasing or understated rhythm work; open it up for gritty blues, garage rock, roots, rockabilly and exploratory psychedelic textures. This is the beauty of the ES-125TD it does not impose a single musical identity. It invites you to discover your own.
This particular guitar is 100% original, with no breaks, repairs or modifications, and comes complete with its original Gibson chipboard case.
More than sixty years later, the invitation
remains the same: plug in, turn up, and let the wood, the pickups and your hands tell the story.
