This guitar is in excellent condition with no dings on the guitar. The only scratch I found was where the metal arm guard used to touch the top, so it was like that from the factory. It's really faint and wouldn't show up in pics but it's there. There is tarnish around the TV Jones Classic pickups and it's worse on the neck pickup. See pics for details. It's a chambered body guitar and is a really nice color combo. The purple violet metallic around the sides, back and neck look great with the silver sparkle binding and the grey smoke top. It's difficult to photograph and it looks even better in person. The neck has a U shape back and the frets are bigger than vintage Gretsch fret wire so it plays easier and it's much easier to bend notes. The frets were PLEK'd at Righteous Guitars in Atlanta GA so the action is really low and it plays very well. I swapped out the bar bridge for the space roller to get a more vintage tone. The bridge helped the midrange become more prominent so it has a more vowelly growl now. The bridge also somehow stops the high pitched ringing from the portion of the string that's behind the bridge. That was really annoying when you're just sitting around playing unplugged. Plus it seems more true to form old school Penguin to have a roller bridge on it. Intonation seems really good too. I've not felt the need for a compensated bridge or anything like that. I removed the chrome arm guard thing because it kept pinching my arm hair and ripping it out. It also fits in the case better now. It's included though if you want to reinstall it. The electronics include a no load tone knob so it's out of circuit when off. It's detented so you can tell when it's off. The capacitor is a nice paper in oil Squeezebox and master volume came with a treble bleed already installed. It's a well thought out perfect playing Penguin. The factory changes make for a better playing and sounding Penguin. I installed Dunlop straplok buttons on it but will include the original Gretsch buttons and screws. There are great online videos available for this particular model if you want to get an idea of what the guitar is all about. All sales are final. Lower 48 US states only.
